Jack Goodman: Candidate for Congress Missouri’s 7th Congressional District
Via BBCW: March 2010
[Snip]One of the challenges for Goodman as a candidate in the Seventh District race is the fact he is one of two men considered to be a politician in a year when anger is directed at the politicians. When I met Mr. Goodman for lunch today and an interview, he comes across as more of a citizen legislator than career politician.
Goodman points out he has always fought for the people of his district. He took on the House speaker over unfair zoning laws. He believes Southwest Missouri needs to look at his experience as a positive and proof he will fight for the the vision our founding fathers established in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. …read the rest of the BBCW post here
So let’s look at Goodman on the issues…and compare them to My Positions
Jack is pro-life. He strongly believes in protecting life at all stages, especially those who cannot defend themselves…
Federal Budget
Federal spending is out of control…. Jack’s record proves he believes in and will vote for limited government and lower taxes.
Spending our way out of this current economic situation is not feasible…Jack … believes conservatives must pursue a definite course and not simply be just a little less liberal than the liberals.
Earmarks
Jack believes the federal appropriation process is terribly broken and must be reformed. Not only does the process lack the accountability and
transparency the American people deserve, it promotes the vulgar spending of taxpayer money that his given Washington its lousy reputation. Jack proposes a moratorium on earmarks and will call on ALL members of congress and candidates to do the same until real reform can be implemented in the system. [sounds nice…won’t ever happen, this is all a little pie in the sky, but ideologically sound in pricinple]
Second Amendment
Jack is a strong supporter of the Constitution, including the 2nd Amendment. Jack was instrumental in helping to pass Missouri’s concealed carry law. He also wrote and sponsored Missouri’s version of the Castle Doctrine, which
allows homeowners to fully protect themselves against unlawful intruders. Jack is a proud member of the NRA with an A+ rating. Jack believes there should be no further encroachment on our right to keep and bear arms.
National Security
Unfortunately, we live in a dangerous world. We cannot make friends with those who have sworn to kill us. Jack will fight to provide all necessary
resources to the men and women of our armed forces who lay their lives on the line everyday to protect the American way of life against terrorists and other threats. [No real position given on the wars]
Securing the Border and Immigration
There are many good people around the world who would like to enter our country legally and follow our rules. Jack welcomes all people who want to legally, productively become a part of the greatness of America.
![]()
Those who enter the country illegally should not be rewarded for breaking the law. Jack is opposed to amnesty. He will fight for additional funding for border security and training for border patrol agents.Energy Independence
Energy policy is a national priority. …Congress must open up domestic
supplies of energy to exploration and encourage next generation coal, nuclear, wind, hydroelectric power and other energy sources if we are to reduce dependence on foreign oil. .
Healthcare
Jack believes there is a general consensus on the principles that Americans are looking for in any health care reform proposal: affordability,
accessibility, choice, and quality. He strongly believes that putting individuals, families, and doctors, not the government, in control of the healthcare system is the key to success.
Jack supports returning control of our children’s education to those who understand their needs the best – parents and our local educators. Family Values
Seems like he talks the talk. Curious to see what else we learn about him.

Billy Long – Someone Stick a Fork in Him
Billy Long (Failing) Candidate for Mo-7 Congressional seat Race commits second possibly MAJOR blunder. Billy (auctnr1) Tweeted this yesterday:
“Wrapping big project for Congressional race- my staff does auction/real estate bus[iness], plus Congressional race and they do a GREAT job THANKS !”
See for yourself Click to Embiggen:![]()
I am glad he appreciates his staff and all, and I am sure that they are some great folks, but since Mr. Long is apparently not acquainted with the law let me explain what is wrong here.
Information below taken directly from http://www.fec.gov/pages/brochures/citizens.shtml
The law … prohibits contributions from corporations … This prohibition applies to any incorporated organization, profit or nonprofit. For example, the owner of an incorporated "mom and pop" grocery store is not permitted to use a business account to make contributions. …Most people think of contributions as donations of money in the form of checks or currency. … [but] anything of value given to influence a Federal election is considered a contribution…The donation of …–anything of value—[like wages of your own business’s employees you have working on your campaign] is an in-kind contribution…A donation of services is also considered an in-kind contribution…
I am not a lawyer or a Campaign Finance expert by any stretch. The way I see it, though, is that there is really no way Mr. Long can use his employees from his business to work on his campaign in any sort of paid capacity, and I think it would be very difficult for him to allow them to “volunteer” because the awkward position that would put his employees in. What if they didn’t want to “volunteer” to work on his political campaign? What would that mean for their regular employment? Someone who is a Lawyer or Campaign Finance expert should look into this. If I am proven wrong, I will be the first one to correct myself, but…
Honestly Folks, at this point I can’t tell these three apart:

Obama openly Rules against the Will of the Governed and now their Lives
By Sher Zieve
As the new US Marxist-Democrat Party today continues to hold secret meetings to determine how to best ram and shove ObamaCare down the throats of the American people, while also conspiring as to how best to oppress them and turn the USA—once and for all—into a totalitarian country, I’m reminded of the now growing-fainter-by-the-moment famous words of our forefathers; words that spoke of and to liberty and freedom for them and their posterity.
Democrats May Use Slaughter Rule to Pass Pro-Abortion Health Care Without Vote
Pelosi a few hours ago publicly stated she is indeed looking into using the “Slaughter Rule”.
Why do we need a House of Representatives or a Senate. If the leadership can deem an issue passed either through the Slaughter Rule or by circumventing the filibuster by invoking the Nuclear Option at will, irregardless of the “Byrd Rule” what purpose is served by having elected representation?

Democrats May Use Slaughter Rule to Pass Pro-Abortion Health Care Without Vote
by Steven Ertelt

March 11, 2010
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — As Democratic leaders in Congress plot their next move on how to get the pro-abortion Senate health care bill through the House, a new strategy has developed apart from the reconciliation plan that has pro-life advocates concerned they could pass the bill without taking a vote on it.
House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter has developed an idea she has not yet presented to Speaker Nancy Pelosi but is one that received considerable attention from political observers yesterday.
When the House considers any legislation on the floor, it first adopts a Rule for debate that sets the parameters for debate, amendments and other procedures.
The problem Democrats have in the House is that pro-life Democrats are joining with Republicans to hold up the Senate bill because it contains massive abortion funding and other pro-abortion problems.
To get around that, Slaughter has mentioned proposing a Rule that would “deem” the Senate bill having already passed the House without an actual vote by members of the House.
The Rule would apply to the reconciliation package that makes the changes Democrats need to secure enough votes.
Under the Slaughter Rule, a majority would be needed to approve it and the idea behind adopting it is to give Democrats in tough re-election campaigns the ability to say they didn’t vote for what is an unpopular pro-abortion health care bill. Instead, they can say they merely voted on a procedural rule.
The idea has drawn guffaws from across the conservative blogosphere.
Newt Gingrich reacted this way: “Incredible. We’ve gone from passing bills without reading them to passing bills without voting on them.”
“Are they out of their minds? What, the town hall meetings of last summer were too genteel and conciliatory for House Democrats’ tastes?” Daniel Foster wrote at National Review. “We’ve long suspected that the Constitution means nothing to our counterparts on the left, but the idea of working around the requirement that bills be passed by the House strikes a new and disturbing we’ve-lost-democracy note.”
Leon Wolf of Red State called the Slaughter Rule “an end-run around one of the most basic Constitutional principles taught in Junior High Civics – the mechanism by which a bill becomes law.”
“Having determined that they lack the votes in the House to pass the Senate bills as-is, House Democrats are attempting one of the most breathtakingly unconstitutional power grabs ever witnessed – a maneuver to deem the Senate bill already passed by the House by rule, despite the fact that it clearly has not,” he added. “They already know the American people don’t want this bill. They know by now that what they’re trying to do is illegal. The question now is whether they still have the shame to care about either.”
Slaughter is waiting for the CBO to come back with numbers on the reconciliation package before presenting her idea to Pelosi.
House Democrats are meeting today to discuss the legislation and soon will have to come up with a plan for getting it passed and getting around the objections pro-life Democrats have on the Senate bill. Whether they will support the Slaughter Rule is another question.
It’s Back!…
From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation
Dear Patriots,
With American citizens completely focused on the upcoming
ObamaCare vote, President Obama is quietly resuscitating
his comprehensive immigration reform policies — namely
amnesty for nearly 11 million people living in the U.S.
illegally.
According to the LA Times, Obama met privately with his
staff on Monday looking to “advance a bill through Congress
before lawmakers become too distracted by approaching
midterm elections.”
Members of his Domestic Policy Council outlined ways to
re-engage comprehensive immigration reform, and it is
believed that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Lindsay
Graham (R-SC) have been asked to create a “blueprint”
that could be turned into legislative language.
It’s ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-ck!
Several years ago, while speaking at a National Council of
La Raza convention, then Senator Obama voiced his
unflinching support for those who marched in the
streets demanding amnesty and all the rights and
benefits granted to U.S. citizens.
“We need a practical solution for the problem of 12
million people who are here without documentation –
many of whom have lived and worked here for years.
That’s why we need to offer those who are willing to
make amends a pathway to citizenship.”
From his mouth to our ears, Obama is revving up the amnesty
bus for another run, and we need to quickly be prepared for
what I believe will be a blitzkrieg rush to pass a plan.
+ + 55,000 New Petition Signers Needed ASAP
Obama is under intense pressure from amnesty
groups like La Raza, MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano
de Aztlan) and others who intensely campaigned for his
White House run. Failure to deliver on his campaign promises
could spark resentment from a politically potent Latino
constituency should he decide to run again.
That’s why we need to quickly bolster our “No Amnesty”
coalition of grassroots citizens.
I’m calling on all members of our team who have
already added their name to our petition to help
me rally and mobilize an additional 55,000
citizens within the next 10 days — pushing
us to 200,000 citizen signers!
Forward this message to 25-30 friends right now
and urge them to stand with you against Obama’s
amnesty dash by signing our petition below:

I expect we will have to move quickly delivering petitions
in the days and weeks ahead, and we must have a substantial
number if we hope to influence lawmakers!
Thanks in advance for your outstanding effort.

ACCUSES HAWAII HEALTH DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL OF PERFORMING INTERNET BACKGROUND CHECK AFTER INCRIMINATING EMAIL EXPOSED (Mar. 10, 2010) — Kathleen Gotto, who last fall had requested information from the Hawaii Department of Health under the state’s UIPA law, has filed a formal complaint with the Office of Information Practices Ombudsman, accusing Department of Health employees of investigating her background on the internet and subsequently ignoring her request. Her complaint was filed as a result of The Post & Email’s discovery of Hawaii Health Department/Vital Records personnel conspiring via email to ignore her requests based on their perceived notion of her political views after seeking personal information about her on the internet.
